As we commemorate Veterans Day, it's crucial to remember the special struggles of Black veterans, especially in the aftermath of World War I. Their sacrifices, often met with disenfranchisement and segregation, should not be forgotten. In the face of efforts to sanitize discussions of America's racist past through initiatives like "Critical Race Theory," it's up to us to preserve this history and honor our own. This Veterans Day, let's reflect on how we can individually build upon their legacy and demand respect and equality for ourselves and our elders.
