In a development that has thrown the nation into darkness, the national grid operated from Osogbo in Osun State has again failed electricity customers, including band A users who are heavily billed and promised uninterrupted power supply. The collapse, which happened at about 3pm today, crashed the power on the grid to about 70 megawatts. With the last collapse happening on April 15, 2024, Nigeria's electricity system has so far failed seven times in 2024. This is an average of one collapse per month.
