It was a great honor for an auxiliary of the AME Church in Zambia to have an opportunity to be part and parcel of the fight and campaign against the world pandemic of COVID-19 that has now engulfed the entire global village.

It is in this regard that on the morning of 25 May 2020, the 17th Episcopal District Lay Organization in Zambia—led by the Episcopal Lay President Brother Caesar Kalenga—donated 100 5KG packs of cleaning chemical which is ideal for disinfecting contaminated surfaces in the environment.

On the afternoon of the same day, the Episcopal Lay Organization went on to make another remarkable donation of assorted disinfectants, water buckets, and hand water pumps to Kanyama First Level Hospital in one of the townships in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital city.

On his official address to the Health Minister and other guests was aired on national and private TV stations, President Kalenga said that the Church is not only there to preach the Good News and offer prayers but also to put faith into action by providing the needs of society.

President Kalenga thanked the Women Missionary Society, Sons of Allen, Young People’s Division, and individuals who made contributions toward the effort.
