ADACI hosted its third Annual D.C. Emancipation Day "Freedom's Crossing" ceremony to commemorate the sacrifices of hundreds of enslaved Africans who came to D.C. in search of freedom following the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation on April 16, 1862.
