Nationally renowned pastor and gospel singer Bishop Paul S. Morton had announced that he would step down as senior pastor of the Changing a Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church megachurch in Atlanta in July on his 70th birthday.

But now the award-winning singer and founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship has said that he will postpone his retirement until there is a vaccine for the coronavirus.

I tried to pastor one church in two states, but I could not do it effectively and I thank God that my wife and I are one.”

The move allowed him more time for him to build Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church which was founded 14 years ago after a huge part of their membership relocated to Atlanta in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

To that end, Morton says that he has put together a task force of 15 leaders to bring ideas to the table for the reopening of the church and how services will be handled when they return to worship after determining that it is safe and people can be properly tested in accordance with the CDC.
