Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation has agreed to pay $8 million and an additional $1.9 million civil penalty to resolve allegations of redlining predominantly Black neighborhoods in Birmingham, Alabama, as part of the Justice Department's Combating Redlining Initiative.
