Jackie Joyner-Kersee, track and field champion who competed and won medals in four Olympic Games, is considered by many to be the best all-around female athlete in the world.

Other athletes involved in Athletes for Hope are Andre Agassi, Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong, Warrick Dunn, Jeff Gordon, Mia Hamm, Tony Hawk, Andrea Jaeger, Mario Lemieux, Alonzo Mourning, and Cal Ripken, Jr. The organization was founded to support charitable and community causes.
