Kay Coles James is President and Founder of the Gloucester Institute. In this role, James leads an organization which trains and nurtures leaders in the African-American community.
James has served in a number of public offices including as Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under President George Bush. During her nearly 30-year career in the public arena, James has served on numerous boards and commissions.
As a commentator and lecturer, James has appeared on every network morning show and several national news and talk programs. James is the author of three books: her award winning 1993 autobiography, Never Forget; Transforming America: From the Inside Out; and a book on the subject of marriage.
James holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hampton University and is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Laws from Pepperdine University.
