The father of slain Black teenager Michael Brown Jr. and activists from Ferguson, Missouri are demanding $20 million from the Black Lives Matter Movement, a now prominent movement they said has forgotten about the “freedom fighters” killed and jailed in the pursuit of social justice. On Tuesday, Tory Russell, the director of the International Black Freedom Alliance (IBFA), and Michael Brown Sr., released a joint video statement condemning the foundation for not supporting the families it said it was intended to help. “Thousands of other youth activists in their 20’s and 30’s have been out in the streets protesting for months and months, and years and years.
