Obituary: Janet M. Fielder “Lady J” dies in Las Vegas at 84

Janet M. Fielder, 84, originally of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, in Las Vegas following a long battle with COPD.

Janet was the former wife of the late 12th Ward Democratic Chairman Dock Fielder, Jr., with whom she shared 32 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents Agnes McCray and James and Christine Calcutta; sisters Billie Williams, Natalie West; brother Roger Graham; children Larry James Fielder, Sr. and Steven Douglas Fielder, Sr.

She leaves to mourn her children Anthony (Tony), Jacqueline (Rev. Jacque), Carolyn and Donna Fielder, all of Pittsburgh; siblings Carole Miles of Las Vegas, James Calcutta, Jr. of New York, Nancy Coates, Roberta Draper, Alice King, Frank McCray and Linda McCray McGowen, all of California; goddaughter Annette King in Pennsylvania; 28 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, Janet worked at Warner Cable Corporation in Pittsburgh.
