R&B singer Trey Songz is moving many to tears with his new song “2020 Riots: How Many Times,” which addresses the senseless killings of Black people by law enforcement throughout America.
A visual for the new single shows moments from protests in memoriam of George Floyd, images of other black men and women gunned down police, and the powerful moment in which Floyd’s daughter says.
Impacted by the imagery and words, people on social poured out their thought and feelings about the song.
“instant tears 😭 this song is so powerful”
“I cried watching this video because I know full well what’s going on but your words with the video 😭😭😭😭😭 thank you @treysongz”
The record is a departure from Songz’s usual hits about steamy trysts with women and making the most of an opportunity to have a good time.
Since returning from his social media hiatus, the new father to 1-year-old son Noah has shown more of himself and less of the sex symbol facade women had grown to love and lust after.
