Mission: The University of Puerto Rico in Humacao, as the main institution of higher education in the eastern area of Puerto Rico:

Establishes the student as the central axis of the university's activity, for this reason directs its teaching efforts, research and services towards the ethical, cultural, aesthetic, humanist, technological and intellectual development of the student; it also contributes to the formation of citizens with integrated knowledge and values that promote the strengthening of participatory democracy, ecological sustainability, justice and equity in the eastern region, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
