Wilmington Police Department officer Kevin Piner, who has now been fired along with other two officers in the department, spoke these words.
Together with City Council members, Williams held a press conference on Wednesday to address the misdemeanor of now-former officers.
The new chief, who’s nearly a 30-year veteran, said he was so upset by the officers’ conduct and that he’s never going to tolerate such behavior.
“Today is a challenging day for me because, as your police chief, one of my first major tasks is to announce the termination of three veteran police officers,” Williams said.
Even though the former officers tried to prevent a release of the information, the city deemed it fit to share the details with the public.
