The astrophysicist-slash-TV-star who became director of the Hayden Planetarium
Neil DeGrasse Tyson is one of Americas best known celebrity scientists, an astrophysicist from New York whos been hailed as the pop culture heir to Carl Sagan. He grew up in the Bronx, with an interest in astronomy. Even though Sagan tried to talk him into going to Cornell, DeGrasse Tyson went to Harvard for his first degree (1980), followed by graduate degree from the University of Texas (1983) and a doctorate from Columbia University (1991). No stranger to public performances -- he was a wrestler and competitive dancer in college -- Tyson first made his mark outside the realm of research with a column he started in 1995 for Natural History magazine. Since then hes been all over the place: presidential commissions, lecture tours, TV appearances, radio shows and all the hottest spots of the internet. As a scientist, hes been an instructor at Princeton and the University of Maryland, as well as the director of New Yorks Hayden Planetarium. Charismatic and opinionated, Tyson has fans who love his unabashed enthusiasm for science, and detractors who deride his unabashed delight in self promotion. His television shows include PBSs Origins (2004) and 400 Years of the Telescope (2009), The History Channels The Universe (2007) and Fox TVs Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (2014).

A lack of salary transparency and little to no data around earnings of smaller influencer accounts can lead to pay discrimination, especially among Black influencers.
As more people are finding fame, notoriety and lucrative careers through “content” creation on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, the idea of what fame is — and who gets to be famous — has drastically shifted.
Particularly stars who ― unlike Gen Z celebs, including Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X or Timothée Chalamet, who grew up with social media and understand it more intuitively ― are pivoting to influencer-ship after creating more traditional, more remote personas.
Unlike so many of the celebs who are flailing as they try to produce relatable content during this pandemic, he has mastered his online persona as effectively as he mastered his “Will Smith: Movie Star” persona during the height of his acting career in the 1990s and 2000s.
In 2016, Forbes put Smith number two on its list of most-overpaid actors ― recent movies like “Concussion” and “Focus” had cost millions of dollars but failed to make decent returns, especially for a big star.
But for every Will Smith or Cardi B. (a little messy but endlessly entertaining on social media, where she initially became popular), there’s an Ellen DeGeneres complaining about how quarantine is like prison from her LA mansion.

According to the SA Jewish Report, Kriel, 28, lives in Pretoria and is relatively well-known in fitness circles.

Saks said the comments came \"out of the blue\" and that Kriel had previously dated a Jewish man, and had at one point considered converting to Judaism.
Kriel reportedly said the videos infuriated her and that she now believed \"the Holocaust was a set-up, executed by Hitler's men, at the cost of millions of Jewish lives\".
