American Red Cross says blood donations are being tested for coronavirus antibodies in the District and Baltimore areas and the donors are informed of the results.
The FDA-approved test takes about seven business days to process and is a part of the donation system that consists of blood, platelets and plasma, WTOP reported.
"If it is positive, it may tell you the levels of antibodies that are in your system,” said Regina E. Boothe Bratton of the Red Cross, WTOP reported.
"In some cases, it may not (reveal levels) if the levels are very low.
Information is power."
