BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump issued the following statement today in response to a newly released text message in the Ahmaud Arbery murder.
The text message from Officer Robert Rash indicates that the Glynn County police enlisted the help of at least one of the suspects in the shooting, retired police officer Greg McMichael.
Months before the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, retired Glynn County law enforcement officer Greg McMichael told local police he could help look out for an unwanted visitor to a home construction site in his neighborhood, records show.
McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, are charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in Arbery’s shooting death.
