Shows like Cops are partly responsible for the public’s ignorance about race and policing.
They never show the racist cops that beat and kill on their episodes.
Or the cops that use racial slurs on a regular.
When they were filming one of these cop shows (A&Es First 48) Aiyana Stanley-Jones, a seven-year-old, was killed by officer Joe Weekley in a Detroit house raid.
The police tried to blame the grandmother who ran to shield Aiyana after a flash grenade the cops threw in the house hit the child on the sofa.
