The District of Columbia's Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, consisting of 21 local leaders, was sworn in on October 25 to advise Mayor Muriel E. Bowser and the D.C. Council on how to spend the projected $80 million in opioid settlement money to combat the growing rates of overdose deaths.
