Thursday, Mayor Duggan announced an alley clean up pilot program.
The city is seeking partners to clean up 500 blocks by the end of 2020.
“Ultimately we want to get to the whole city, but we want to try this out,” said Duggan.
“Although I have not been able to do my weekly house parties the last few months…I heard every single time I sat in someone’s living room the issues of alleys in the city of Detroit.”
If you would like to be a pilot block for the program you must:
“We’re going to have to come in with major trucks to haul the material out of a lot of these alley, but we want to know that you’re going to be comitted when it starts to clutter back up,” said Duggan.
