Prime Time Limited and Chibiso Motors have come in handy to support the From The Ashes concert to be held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on April 5 2025.
The concert, put together by musicians Gwamba, Lawi, Lulu, Kell Kay and Temwah, is aimed at raising funds for fellow musician Tay Grin, who recently lost property in a fire accident.
Prime Time Limited has donated K2 million, vehicles and fuel for logistics during the event.
The company’s chief executive officer Jonathan Kaunda said their support for the concert aligned with their values of giving back and supporting the creative industry.
“We are honoured to be part of this cause and look forward to seeing the positive change it brings,” Kaunda said. Tay Grin, better known as Nyau King, hailed the company for the gesture.
“Their support shows the true Malawian spirit of standing together in times of need,” the ‘Chipapapa’ star said. Lawi said Prime Time Limited had set a good example to support the cause.
“Prime Time has set a very good example for us to execute a good concert,” he said. Chibiso Motors has invested K500,000 in purchasing tickets for their staff members to be part of the concert.
“Additionally, we are extending our support by purchasing 10 more tickets for our loyal fans, followers and customers on Facebook,” the company’s chief executive officer Ishmael Gringer Makawa said.
Makawa said they believe in supporting local talent and community driven initiatives. “Tay Grin’s From the Ashes is more than just a show; it is a powerful comeback story and a celebration of Malawian music.
“We, as a proudly Malawian company, are committed to uplifting our arts and culture. This sponsorship is our way of giving back, boosting the entertainment industry and appreciating both our hardworking team and our valued customers,” Makawa said.
Umodzi Park has also offered the venue to organisers free-of-charge.
