Many reports have been circulating ringing of a new dawn. On Feb.6, Murder Inc. Records co-founder and well-known music producer Irv Gotti died at the age of 54. Gotti, who was born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr. on June 26, 1970, in Queens, New York City, had a significant role in the R&B and hip-hop communities. He helped start the careers of DMX and Jay-Z and co-founded Murder Inc. Records in 1998, signing singers including Ashanti and Ja Rule.
