New York State Senator Brian Benjamin has sponsored a bill that will bar officers who have been fired or forced to resign for disciplinary reasons from behind rehired by other police departments. The bill is a collaboration between Benjamin, New York City Council member Francisco Moya, and New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson. It will be presented at both the city and state levels.
