Recording superstar Rihanna and her dad, Ronald Fenty were set to face off in a Los Angeles federal courtroom next month, but due to the Coronavirus shutdown, the singer and her father will have put their differences on hold for the time being.
Rihanna, aka Robyn Rihanna Fenty, filed a lawsuit against her father in January 2019, over the use of his business name, Fenty Entertainment, which she says breaches her trademark of the “Fenty” name and is thus profiting from the success of her beauty line, also named Fenty.
The 32-year old entertainer and business mogul also maintained that her father had been exploiting her name—in one instance, accepting a $15 million concert deal on her behalf without her knowledge.
The lawsuit was filed after the singer’s father had been served with several cease and desist letters.
The singer is currently in London and the trial has been postponed until September
