Watch our report:
Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack says the club's players shouldn't blame him for not fighting for their salaries as Kenya battles the coronavirus pandemic.
Polack said he's shocked by reports that players are blaming him for being quiet as they fight for their wages from the club leadership on their own.
He insisted he should not be on the receiving end since he doesn't pay salaries, and blamed those who are not happy with his presence at the club for inciting players against him.
Even though Gor players have gone for several months without pay, the management has once in a while chipped in with little cash to cushion them during these hard times.
The financial cash crunch has not only hit the Kenyan champions, but also their arch-rivals AFC Leopards and other Kenyan Premier League clubs whose players have gone without pay due to lack of sponsorship following the exit of prime sponsors SportPesa in August last year.

Focusing on the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) pillar, there are many highlights and lessons of Uganda's frontline service providers fighting coronavirus stigma.
Importantly, a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) pillar was purposively included in the ministry of Health-led Covid-19 national response strategy to handle behavioural change and stigma reduction interventions.
This has been a result of the MHPSS participatory and intensive health education on Covid-19 and has reduced the levels of anxiety and stigma in communities even though there was that isolated case in Kalangala where a recovered person was disowned by some village mates.
The MHPSS pillar has received considerable support from sister departments like Butabika national referral mental health hospital, Makerere University department of mental health, Uganda Counseling Association, among others.
In support of World Health Organization (WHO) guidance to countries, it is critical to integrate mental health psychosocial support into medical interventions in managing viral infectious diseases of Covid-19 magnitude because community engagement plays a significant role in preventing further spread and helps in addressing stigma that usually accompany such diseases due to myths and lack of reliable, factual and readily available information during the emergency phase.
In a unique e-ceremony for the signing of two Financing Agreements worth USD 59 million, EU Ambassador HE Hélène Cavé reiterated EU's commitment to support Liberia's development agenda and recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The European Union (EU) and the Government of Liberia signed today two Financing Agreements which will lead to new programmes in support to Liberia's social and economic development and recovery from challenges caused by the recent Coronavirus pandemic.
The programmes will target Rural Electrification (prioritizing the South-East region) with EUR 42 million (around USD 46 Million) and support demand driven Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for young people in Liberia with a total of EUR 12 million (around USD 13 Million)
The COVID-19 crisis has hit many African countries, and the EU immediately reacted in helping Liberia but the wider development agenda of the country should not be forgotten.
Together with the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Samuel Tweah, the EU Ambassador Hélène Cavé launched two new programmes under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF).
With these two new programmes, all funds under the 11th EDF have now been committed and the EU along with the Government will soon embark on a new programming cycle, to support Liberia financially, targeting some of the priorities of the Pro-poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD) from 2021 until 2027.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month in the U.S., and in the age of the coronavirus pandemic, many of us are finding our mental well-being challenged in unexpected, extraordinary ways.
Black and Brown Americans are hit hard by both – first by disproportionately suffering the physical and financial effects of the COVID-19 crisis, on top of being, according to Medical News Today, more likely to suffer higher rates of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) than White Americans.
According to studies by the American Psychological Association (APA), minorities experience a significant degree of marginalization and discrimination, which can stifle socioeconomic growth as well as access to healthcare, including formal mental health support.
So, in the spirit of aiding those who don’t have the opportunity, access to, or much time for mental healthcare, Tedx speaker, performance coach and GBN’s “This Way Forward” contributor Dena Crowder has put together a three-minute “Power Shot” with some guiding words and a quick breath exercise that can help you re-center in these overwhelming times:

The East African Community (EAC) Council of Ministers suggests Uganda may have breached the agreements on how much water to release from Nalubaale dam -- the main outlet of the world's largest freshwater lake.
Documents filed at the EAC Council of Ministers say Uganda has refused to execute a new policy governing the release of water in Jinja, a decision that has led to flooding of the lake that could claim more lives and cause destruction.
Uganda insists that the policy, which determines volumes of water to be released based on Lake Victoria levels, cannot be implemented as it does not take into consideration several factors, like extraction in the affected countries.
The regional bloc ordered implementation of the schedule after it emerged that Uganda had been violating agreements to maintain the natural Lake Victoria outflow volumes before Nalubaale dam was built.
In 2005, World Bank senior disaster risk management specialist Daniel Kull led a study that showed that Uganda released more than 50 per cent of the allowed water volumes from Nalubaale and Kiira dams over the previous two years.

This was said recently by Tanga Regional Immunisation Services Coordinator Seif Shaib during a special tour led by National Immunisation Programme Project Officer Richard Magodi to raise awareness of Covid-19 prevention guidelines for healthcare workers responsible for immunisation services.
Elaborating, Mr Shaib said the region had enough vaccines and immunisation services were available at health facilities.
For his part, Mr Magodi had an opportunity to witness the provision of immunisation services at various health facilities and how health workers were observing Covid -19 prevention guidelines, which among others, required residents to observe social distancing and frequent handwashing with running water and soap and wear facemasks.
\"Health personnel responsible for the provision of immunisation services and monitoring of preventable diseases in children should continue with vaccine schedules, while observing Covid -19 prevention guidelines,\" Mr Magodi added.
\"At health facilities we have visited health workers and have continued using this system for vaccination, requesting for vaccines and other immunisation services and receive various information needed by using tablets and they have been trained how to use the system,\" he said.

The shortfall, attributed to the double whammy of the headwind caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the slump in oil price due to a sharp drop in demand and price war between two powerful producers, Russia and Saudi Arabia, representing a 31 per cent of the prorated oil revenue target.
