Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre, has expressed sadness at the death of Jacob Desvarieux, the co-founder of the music group, Kassav. 'It is with immense sadness that I join people from around the world, to mourn the passing of Kassav’s co-founder Jacob Desvarieux who died on Friday in Guadeloupe,' Pierre wrote on Facebook on Saturday. He recalled that Desvarieux was an accomplished guitarist whose music brought many from around the world together, dancing to the songs of Kassav for just over four decades, most notably in the French-creole speaking islands.
