At the opening ceremony of the Jamaica Teachers' Association's (JTA) 56th annual conference at Montego Bay Convention Centre, Vice-chancellor of The University of the West Indies, Sir Hilary Beckles called on the Government, the private sector, and civil society to remove access based on income for an equal playing field.
