December 6, 2024 (ENTEBBE) — The leadership of Sudan's Tagadum coalition of civilian democratic forces concluded meetings Friday in Entebbe, Uganda, referring three key issues to a political mechanism for further study and consultation. Former Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, head of the Tagadum leadership body, said members agreed to refer the issues of a civilian front, the political process, and delegitimizing the Port Sudan government to the mechanism for comprehensive study and broad consultation within Tagadum's components. The leadership body met in Entebbe from Dec. 3-6. In his closing remarks, Hamdok urged countries in the region to pressure the warring parties to declare a cease-fire and expedite the opening of humanitarian corridors, building on the progress achieved at the Jeddah platform. He said the war in Sudan surpasses the scale of crises in Gaza, Lebanon and Ukraine.
