Nationwide protests have taken place since October 7 despite the disbanding of the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) police unit.

The demonstrators have been accused of attacking police stations and personnel.

The rallies which are mostly attended by young people have become avenues to vent against corruption and unemployment.

Rights groups say at least 15 people have been killed the demonstrations began in early October.

Ms Gadaheldam has been an almost permanent fixture on the sides of President Museveni in regional meetings to deal with relations with Sudan under former President Omar-al-Bashir and current military leader Gen Abdel Fatah al-Burhan.

Najwa Gadaheldam, a senior adviser to Sudan's leader, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, died Wednesday, about 24 hours after the plane that had intended to transport her back to Israel for treatment landed in the Arab country.

Times of Israeli in a lead article titled; 'Israeli MDs fly to enemy Sudan in failed bid to save diplomat behind secret ties', said despite the two countries still being technically at war, Israeli officials went to great length to send \"a plane with medical staff and equipment to Sudan in an attempt to save the life of a diplomat sick with Covid-19, who managed the clandestine ties between Jerusalem and Khartoum\".

The controversial Uganda link

Ms Gadaheldam was said to have first met President Museveni in Vienna, Austria at the UN conference on water in early 2000s when the relations between Uganda and Sudan were fragile.

Ms Gadaheldam's last 'official' function involving Uganda was said to have been on February 22 in Juba, where she attended a meeting between Lt Gen al-Burhan, the chairman of the Sovereign National Council of Sudan, and Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, who was representing President Museveni at the inauguration of the new government of national unity of South Sudan.

“PTSD affects individuals in many different ways,” said Dr. Juan-Carlos Zuberbuhler, a psychiatrist with Kaiser Permanente Southern California.

Dr. Zuberbuhler, who practices at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center, noted the simplest triggers can make someone with PTSD feel like their nervous system becomes hijacked by a panic reaction, and that can cause you to fight (get angry), flight (avoid) or freeze (feel numb).

According to Dr. Zuberbuhler, doing the following may improve a person’s path to recovery from PTSD:

Because there are times when PTSD can cause severe anxiety and other mental health challenges,

Dr. Zuberbuhler emphasized the importance of knowing when to seek help.

Kaiser Permanente offers valuable care instructions for those with PTSD.

Chappelle poignantly explained how the image of Floyd calling for his deceased mother and pleading for his life is seared into his and the nation’s wounded psyche.

Chappelle also took on NRA, as well as Candace Owens, a Black right-wing media personality who brought up Floyd’s troubled past to criticize the Black community for making him a “martyr.”

Owens replied to Chappelle’s criticism on Twitter by saying that, unlike people on the “left,” she has a sense of humor and can take a joke.

A beautiful new short film, narrated by rugby superstar, Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira, is released as hardships continue across the continent in the face of COVID-19

Okay, who is still confused by COVID-19?

Now, on the Day of the African Child, Convicts has turned its attention to Africa, producing, ‘Africa Strong’ .

“I want to show a story that is true to my home, my continent,” says rugby World Cup winner, Tendai Mtawarira, who narrates the video.

Every year since 1991, the Day of the African Child has been commemorated in memory of the young activists who were killed during the 1976 Soweto uprising in South Africa.

On this day Africa Strong seeks to commend their courage and reflect on the challenges that young people still face today.

The lockdown measures have increased the risk of children becoming victims of domestic violence, bullying and other forms of abuse.

The situation of some children has been made worse due to violence from the adults with whom they are locked down at home.

Children are assaulted both physically and psychologically during this lockdown more than any other period, mostly by adults who are not able to handle their own lockdown emotional stress.

The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown has brought about a serious crisis in the protection and rights of children.

The worst still is that the adults that children look up to for answers to the so many questions going on in their heads are the ones who are the sources of the abuse, thereby adding to their woes.

Shortly after members of the California legislature took a knee for eight minutes and 46 seconds at the California Capitol to protest racism and the death of George Floyd, Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) took the opportunity to call out some of her Latino colleagues.

“I have to be honest, I’m disappointed with our Latino caucus,” Gonzalez said at the event that Assemblymember Syndey Kamlager (D-Los Angeles), a member of the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC), organized.

Gonzalez said although some of the California Legislative Latino Caucus (CLLC) members have co-authored pieces of legislation with Black Caucus members, they have not been supportive enough of policy that can make a measurable difference in the lives of Black Californians.

“As a caucus, we’ve been woefully silent on some of the issues that the Black caucus has put out there on police reform,” continued Gonzalez, who is chair of the Latino caucus.

The protest-slash-tribute took place in front of the California state Capitol’s West steps to honor the late George Floyd, who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer who pinned the unarmed Black man down during an arrest.
