THE TRINIDAD and Tobago women's football team will look to rebound when they face Costa Rica in the Concacaf W Championships at the Estadio Universitario in Mexico, from 7 pm (TT time), on Friday.
On Tuesday, TT suffered a 6-0 defeat to Canada in Group B.
Christine Sinclair opened the scoring for Canada in the 27th minute, before a stubborn TT defence kept the score at 1-0 until the 67th minute.
The floodgates opened in the final 23 minutes.
Julia Grosso made it 2-0 in the 67th minute and completed her brace with another goal in the 79th.
Jessie Flemming made it 4-0 in the 84th, before Janine Beckie (86th) and Jordyn Huitema (90th+1) rounded off the scoring.
Costa Rica will be a confident bunch after getting past Panama 3-0 in their opening match, on Tuesday.
The top two teams in each of the two groups will qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
