As part of its efforts to improve the provision of essential medical services, particularly vaccination, to benefit children and families in the riverain communities of regions One and Eight, UNICEF [the United Nations Children’s Fund] utilising funds from the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) COVID-19 vaccine Delivery Support (CDS), handed over two vaccination boats to the Ministry of Health yesterday.
A UNICEF release stated that the vaccine boats are the first of its kind in Guyana, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
