Attorney General Reginald Armour,SC, returned on the same day.
During a news conference at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's on August 10, Dr Rowley disclosed he would be going on vacation on Thursday, after Monday's local government elections.
The PNM and UNC tied 7-7 in Monday's elections.
A statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) on Thursday said Rowley is on a private trip to Barbados.
Finance Minister Colm Imbert will act as prime minister until Rowley returns.
A statement from the Office of the President said Kangaloo left TT for a short vacation.
Senate President Nigel De Freitas will act as president until Kangaloo returns on August 24.
A statement from Armour's ministry said he returned home on Thursday "after a short trip abroad." He has since resumed work.
Energy Minister and Minister in the OPM Stuart Young acted as AG while Armour was overseas.
