Wanderers Junior Cricket is preparing for an exciting overseas tour that promises to be a milestone in the development of its young players. A group of twenty-six cricketers, aged eight to eighteen, will head to the United Kingdom for a two-week cricket and cultural experience in July.Answering the call for assistance, the Sandy Lane Trust presented the Wanderers Cricket Club’s Youth Programme with a cheque for $16 500 on Wednesday at the Denis and Eric Atkinson Pavilion in Daryl’s Road, to give a much needed boost to the tour’s success.The UK tour is a major initiative by the Wanderers club to provide international exposure to their most promising talents. With a youth program that supports sixty-eight boys, the club is committed to developing cricketing skill, discipline, and teamwork. This tour goes beyond sport as it opens doors to scholarship opportunities and personal growth for young athletes.
