Atlanta police attempt to detain Rayshard Brooks in a Wendy's parking lot before shooting the 27-year-old Black man as he attempted to flee.
Atlanta police shot and killed a Black man during an altercation in a Wendy’s parking lot Friday night, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The man, identified as 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, was shot after he ran away from two officers who attempted to detain him, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The two officers on the scene were responding to a call that Brooks allegedly had fallen asleep in the drive-thru of the fast-food restaurant, blocking other cars.
Police say Brooks took the taser from the officer before being shot.
