BET reported on Friday (May 29) that megastar Beyoncé (pictured) is the only other performer in the music industry other than Mariah Carey to top Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart during four consecutive decades.
However, the “Queen Bey Effect” unleashed unprecedented fanfare, which easily propelled Megan’s remix to a number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 music chart for singles.
Beyoncé achieved one or more number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the last year of the 1990s, during the 2000s, in the 2010s, and already for the 2020 decade’s first year.
As a member of Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé topped the Hot 100 chart on Billboard for the first time.
After its official release (with Beyoncé’s massive Beyhive fan club in the mix to help increase the song’s popularity), Sheeran’s 2017 hit “Perfect” shot straight to the number one spot on America’s most coveted song-ranking chart in music.
