Creck Sporting Club and newly promoted side Ekhaya have taken the ongoing player-transfer window by storm, having signed 20 players between them.
With nine days to go before the transfer window closes, Creck have bolstered their squad with nine players whereas Ekhaya have signed 11 players.
Brighton MunthaliSo far, Creck have signed goalkeeper Brighton Munthali from Blue Eagles, defender Miracle Gabeya (free agent), strikers Isaac Msiska from Mzuzu City Hammers, Hassan Hussein from Fomo, Mischek Bottomani from Mighty Wanderers, Kondwani Chilembwe from Mighty Tigers and Patrick Mapanzi from Chilomoni FC.
On top of that, they have completed deals for midfielders Akuzike Lifa and Tathedwa Willard. Both players were at Creck on loan last season.
Creck Chairperson Muhammad Selemani said the club would sign one more player before the transfer window closes.
“We have signed all the players based on recommendations from the technical panel. We believe we have assembled a team that is capable of competing at the top level,” he said.
Apart from beefing up the squad, Creck strengthened their technical panel.
Joseph Kamwendo, who was acting as coach last season, following the departure of Macdonald Mtetemera, is now in charge.
Abel Mkandawire was roped in as his assistant whereas former Flames striker Chiukepo Msowoya is the fitness trainer.
Sibusiso Padambo joined the club as goalkeepers’ trainer.
Creck finished six in their debut season last year.
On the other hand, Ekhaya have been the busiest side on the player transfer market as they prepare for their debut season in the TNM Super League.
So far, they have brought in striker Emmanuel Saviel on loan from Zambian side Mufulira Wanderers, defender Fanizo Mwansambo, goalkeeper Elias Missi (both from Bangwe All Stars), defender Kesten Simbi (free agent) and Happy Mphepo from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve.
They also signed striker Christopher Gototo on loan from Silver Strikers, Simela Muyila, Andrew Lameck, Lovemore Mbeta, Innocent Msowoya and Joseph Macdonald.
Coach Enos Chatama was not readily available for his comment Wednesday.
Ekhaya earned promotion to the TNM Super League after winning the Southern Region ThumbsUp Premier Division League.
