Trinidad and Tobago swimmer Dylan Carter qualified for the final of the men's 50-metre butterfly at the 19th FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The final will be held on Sunday.
On Saturday, Carter was the fastest swimmer over the eight heats after winning heat five in 22.87 seconds.
Finishing behind Carter in heat five was Julien Henx of Luxembourg in 23.69 and Stergios Marios Bilas of Greece ended third in 23.72.
Carter sealed a place in the final after finishing third in semifinal two in 22.98. Benjamin Proud of Great Britain was first in 22.76 and Italian Thomas Ceccon touched the wall second in 22.79.
Also sealing a place in the final from semifinal two were Tzen Wei Teong of Singapore and Brazilian Nicholas Santos. Teong was fourth in 23.03 and Santos fifth in 23.04.
In semifinal one, the top three swimmers booked a place in the final.
Americans Caelab Dressel (22.79) and Michael Andrew (22.87) finished first and second respectively. Szebasztian Szabo of Hungary was third in 22.91.
Carter has the sixth fastest time heading into the final.
