Lowcountry Local First (LLF) has joined the Charleston Together Initiative started by State Senator Marlon Kimpson and State Representative Marvin Pendarvis on May 31, 2020 alongside the Coastal Community Foundation.
To accomplish these objectives, Charleston Together has partnered with Coastal Community Foundation to create the fund and expand the community outreach component of this project.
It is an honor to be involved in this important process to provide much needed funds to our local business community at a time when every dollar and penny matters,” said Jamee Haley, Executive Director for Lowcountry Local First.
“We appreciate that a focus of this fund is to support organizations doing the important work around social justice in our community, and we are advocating that the businesses that will benefit from the fund agree to participate in diversity, equity and inclusion training in order to be a recipient.”
Contributions to the fund can be made directly to the Coastal Community Foundation by going online and entering Charleston Together Fund in the “other designation” field when prompted, or by mailing a check and writing “Charleston Together Fund” in the memo line and sending to 1691 Turnbull Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405.
