A violent altercation in the Pine Basin, the Pine, St Michael ended the life of a 26-year-old woman on her birthday and left several other people injured.The young woman, whose name had not been disclosed by police up to late Tuesday, was a resident of the nearby Princess Royal Avenue.The incident, which resulted in a heavy police response and drew scores of onlookers as well as distraught family members, was first reported to officers at the Operations Control Room around 4:55 p.m., according to the Barbados Police Services’ Communications and Public Affairs Officer Inspector Rodney Inniss.“On arrival, they were able to confirm a number of persons were injured and, sadly, one individual, a female, has unfortunately died at the scene located at the pavilion,” he told reporters at the scene.
