THE EDITOR: On the morning of July 28 I was on my way to the airport to catch a flight. I encountered a long traffic back-up due to a roadblock around Courts on the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway. I assumed there was a search for unlawful objects.
After spending 20 minutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic I was concerned that I would miss my flight. I turned into Don Miguel Road and navigated the route to return me back to the highway, bypassing the roadblock.
I was happy to have gotten to the airport in time for my flight.
After reflecting, I felt some empathy for the officers manning the roadblock in the hot sun because the criminals are smarter than me.
