A MAN charged with using obscene language after being given two fixed-penalty notices for traffic violations has pleaded guilty.
On August 8, Keyon Murrell faced San Fernando magistrate Armina Deonarinesingh, who put him on a $2,000 bond to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for the next 12 months.
Murrell must return to the court for sentencing if he breaches the bond.
The police contended that around 11.50 am on August 7, PC Ramcharan and officers in uniform were on foot patrol on High Street, San Fernando, near JD's Exclusive.
There, the police from the San Fernando Traffic Unit issued Murrell with the notices, and he shouted, "Allyuh police real stupid."
Ramcharan warned him about his behaviour.
When Ramcharan returned Murrell's driving licence, he looked at the policeman and shouted, "You is a big (obscene language)."
Murrell repeated the remarks before driving off.
Shortly after, the same police officer saw Murrell getting into his car on Cipero Street, near the Police Complaints Unit.
They spoke to him about using obscene language on High Street, a public place, but he did not respond.
The police arrested Murrell and took him to the San Fernando police station, where Ramcharan later charged him.
