Trump supporters planning to attend a reelection rally for the president in Tulsa, Okla., next week will be required to sign a waiver absolving the Trump campaign of any liability for any exposure to the novel coronavirus.
Those who register to attend the rally, Trump's first since the coronavirus outbreak began, must sign a waiver saying that the attendees acknowledge that "an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present," "voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19" and won't hold the "Trump campaign, the venue or other organizers liable," CNN reported.
The campaign said the rally will be held at the BOK Center in Tulsa on June 19 in spite of the ongoing pandemic.
The president also drew fire for the chosen date and location of the rally.
June 19 is recognized as Juneteenth, the day the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were freed, while Tulsa is the site of one of the worst massacres of African Americans in the nation's history, when white mobs burned and looted businesses on "Black Wall Street" in 1921.
