Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos have hired seasoned coach Alex Ngwira until the end of the season.
This comes few days after the club sacked coach Andrew Bunya due to its poor start to the 2025 TNM Super League season.
Dedza Vice Chairperson Mabvuto Mugode said discussions were at an advanced stage Wednesday.
“We have agreed the deal in principle. He [Ngwira] has already arrived in Dedza and we will unveil him after finalising all the details,” Mugode said.
In a separate interview Wednesday, Ngwira confirmed the development.
“I am in Dedza at the moment. We have finalised everything. I will be here until the end of the season,” Ngwira said.
Ngwira was confident of turning around the team’s fortunes this season.
“Our target is to finish in the top 8. The season has just started; so, we will plan well for the remaining matches,” Ngwira said.
The former Mighty Wanderers and Mzuzu City Warriors coach has chosen Luka Bruno Milanzi as his assistant.
Ngwira was also linked with a move to Lilongwe-based side Creck Sporting Club, who have suspended coach Joseph Kamwendo and his two assistants Abel Mkandawire and Chiukepo Msowoya due to poor results in the early stages of the season.
Dedza fired Bunya following two consecutive defeats in the TNM Super League last week.
The team lost 1-0 to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at home for the first time in four years before suffering a 4-0 defeat to Karonga United at the same venue.
Dedza are 10th on the log table with six points from six matches.
