Kamuzu Barracks aim to stop Bullets

Kamuzu Barracks have made an inconsistent start to the 2025 football season but they still believe they have the pedigree to stop FCB Nyasa Big Bullets when they meet at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon.

The soldiers plunge into the battlefield against Bullets in what others believe is mission impossible following mixed fortunes in the early stages of the season.

So far, KB have lost two matches to defending champions Silver Strikers and Moyale Barracks by 2-0 margins but they have registered three victories and one draw in six matches.

On the other hand, Bullets have started the campaign on a high and they will be looking to make it six out of six this afternoon.

At this stage of the season, Bullets have only conceded one goal in five matches in the league.

As usual, they are a tough nut to crack at Kamuzu Stadium.

For KB, they need to be brave to get maximum points. The soldiers have never beaten Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in a league match.

KB coach Nicholas Mhango said he was beaming with confidence that they can be the first team to stop them this season.

“It is always tough playing against Bullets but if we plan well we can get maximum points. We just need to go there with a good attitude,” Mhango said.

KB have a score to settle against Bullets having lost 2-0 in the TNM Super League second round match at the same venue last season after a goal-less stalemate in the first leg at Civo Stadium.

The soldiers go into the match on fourth position with nine points from six matches whereas Bullets are at the top with 15 points from five matches.

Bullets Coach Peter Mponda said they need to utilise home advantage.

“We feel that we are at home and we go there and dictate the rhythm of the game. Yes, Kamuzu Barracks have been causing problems but this is a different game so the guys are looking forward to the game,” Mponda said.

Bullets defeated Chitipa United 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium whereas KB shared the spoils with Creck Sporting Club following a goal-less stalemate at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in midweek.

Elsewhere, Mafco will face Moyale Barracks at Chitowe Stadium whereas Blue Eagles will host Mzuzu City Hammers at Nankhaka Stadium
